Restricting right to vote!!

Constitution of my country gives me right to vote to elect my representative to State Assemblies and Parliament. But in my constituency my right to vote has been restricted. Under the negative instrument of reservation, my constituency has been reserved for SC candidates. This has restricted my choice. With this reservation, I have to elect a representative from SC community only. This is wrong. I want my right back.

Politicians have always misused constitution to violate constitution. A right gurranted under the constitution is restricted or taken away by invoking another provision of the constitution. What is wrong - the constiution or the politicians who play with it?

I support you. You should get back your right to vote to elect a representative of your choice and not one who belongs to a particular group.

If you are speaking about the US Constitution there is not a "right to vote" stated in that document I am not here to argue but to point out a fact. You can choose to actually read that very document and see that there is not a "right to vote".

I am sure you have heard the phrase "right to vote" throughout your entire American education but that was not the truth. I cannot blame you for believeing what you have been told for most of your life. I hope you take this opportunity to read and understand what you need to know as fact.

There are amendments that restrict the states rights to deny the privileged to vote. There are number of amendments that make it illegal to restrict the privilege to vote based a number of individual situations. One of the last says that no one can restrict the vote based on any age of 18 years or more (ref: Amendment XXVI)

Constitution, visit http://www.usconstitution.net/const.html
